Ouvido Absoluto 2026

31 January 2026 / 16h00

until 31 January 2026 / 23h59

Ouvido Absoluto is back on 31 January, with a day dedicated to immersive listening: from the horizontal landscapes of ambient to the harsh textures of noise, from the winds of the real brought by field recordings to the synthesiser lines that traverse us.

Four performances, in two separate sessions, with Funcionário and Adriana João & Pedro Alves Sousa at the Tropical Greenhouse of the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra and Imberbe and Delikwe at CAV – Centro de Artes Visuais.

Funcionário | Adriana João & Pedro Alves Sousa

Tropical Greenhouse of the University of Coimbra Botanical Garden – 4 pm

Funcionário is Pedro Tavares’ solo project focused on the expression of everyday life and all its facets, not as a continuous narrative but as a cluster of sensations – the power of sound as the bridge between memory and the imagination that interprets it. ‘Horizonte’, his album recently released by Holuzam, is a work in which he breaks free from rigid structures and embraces a more expansive, colourful and free process.

Artists from different generations and with different sensibilities, Adriana João and Pedro Alves Sousa played together for the first time at Ponto de Orvalho, in 2024, and are now in Coimbra to present the result of a free and intense joint work, developed over this time. Always based on improvisation and intuitive exploration, we can look forward to the encounter between Adriana João’s ethereal and fervent violin and Pedro Alves Sousa’s powerful and effervescent saxophone, in what will be a rare opportunity to catch them live.

Imberbe | Delikwe

CAV – Centro de Artes Visuais – 10 p.m.

Imberbe‘s music moves like a fragmented memory – the sound forgets its form and time slips away. His second album, Presence, released by New York’s Altamira Records, is inspired by field recordings of the Austrian Alps and Bregenz. Inspired by Jon Fosse’s novel A Shining, Presence is a passage through rooms of frozen time: broken loops, drowned and grainy voices, and drawn-out field recordings.

Giuseppe Rizzi, better known as Delikwe, departs from the purity of dub for more fearless experimentations. DJ and producer originally from Matera in Italy, now living in Lisbon, Delikwe released Echoes of Transformation in mid-2025 on the label Out of Order. The album hovers between deconstructed dub, downtempo and immersive sound design, based on field recordings captured in his homeland and in Portugal.
